Lindy Harris found the perfect fit for real estate and started her real estate business with One Agency after working for an independent real estate agency where she ran the sales department.
“I figured that I might as well be doing it for myself, I’d always thought that I would open my own business one day and when I came across One Agency it seemed like the perfect fit for real estate and for me.”
Lindy opened One Agency Lindy Harris in the NSW Hunter Valley region, covering the Singleton, Broke and Branxton areas in February 2015.
She discovered the brand after attending a Lee Woodward seminar. Lee introduced her to Paula Taylor, who was one of the first members of the One Agency group.
Lindy says that it’s been great to be a part of one big family and how much she loves the ‘team’ environment and spirit that One Agency offers.
“Paula was an inspiration to me and since joining I’ve met some amazing agents who have become great friends. I love the branding, there’s nothing like it in Singleton and it’s being really well received,” she says.
It all happened so fast and yet it took her three years to bite the bullet and set up her own real estate business.
“I must have driven Paul (Davies, the founder & CEO of One Agency) mad with my indecision. The idea of leaving a sales position and setting up in business is very daunting and overwhelming. In retrospect, with the knowledge I now have and with the supportive nature of the group, I should have done it much sooner.”
Lindy says that it’s been great to be a part of one big family and how much she loves the ‘team’ environment and spirit that One Agency offers. Head Office were standing by to help with queries as she set up and the closed Facebook Group was invaluable in keeping her in touch with members around the country.
“It’s great to share experiences and to see other members ideas in one place. If I need help, I can post a question and get knowledge and advice from agents all over Australia,” she says.
“I remember Kelly Flanagan (One Agency Kelly Flanagan) said to me ‘there is no better feeling than turning up at work every morning, putting the key in the front door knowing you are doing it for yourself,’ and she’s so right! In the 10 weeks I’ve been open I have 46 listings, 3 sales and 2 under offer in what is a very challenging market. There’s been downturn in the mining sector which makes up a large part of the market in the Hunter, so to say I’m happy would be a huge understatement!”
